Bio

I am an Associate Professor (Maître de Conférences) in Computer Science at Aix-Marseille University since December 2020. I am the TALEP team leader (Natural Language Processing research group) at the Laboratoire d’Informatique et Systèmes (LIS / UMR 7020). From 2010 to 2020, I was at the University of Saint-Etienne with a similar position. I worked in the Data Intelligence team at the Hubert Curien Laboratory. I received my Research Habilitation (HDR) from the University of Saint-Etienne in November 2020.

I obtained my European PhD Degree at Rovira i Virgili University (Spain) in 2006. During my PhD studies, I did several research stays at 4 different universities: University of Alicante (Spain), Waseda University (Japan), University of Maryland Baltimore County (USA), and University of Saint-Etienne (France). My post-doctoral training includes a two-year stay at the Department of Computer Science at Yale University, where I was supported by a Marie Curie Outgoing International Fellowship (OIF) from the European Commission.

My research interests are in the area of Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Language Acquisition and Human-Computer interaction.
