xv.tar.gz is a tar file that contains an instable image on XView 3 for Irix 5. Instructions for installation: gunzip -c xview.tar.gz | tar xvf - su inst -f xview That installs binaries (in /usr/bin/X11), libraries (in /usr/lib) (including shared libraries), fonts (in /usr/openwin/fonts) and other misc stuff under /usr/openwin. To remove, use: versions remove xview Because the font situation is a bit messed up, you have to do the following before you start any xview application: xset +fp /usr/openwin/fonts/100dpi/ xset +fp /usr/openwin/fonts/75dpi/ xset +fp /usr/openwin/fonts/misc/ Alternatelivy, you can add the above in your X session file. The binaries included are: props textedit olwm clock (watch your path for conflicts with SGI's clock) This distribution is not endorsed by Silicon Graphics. I just did it to help the general public.
